ABOUT: In 1981 Jean-Louis Descours fell in love with Château La Verrerie which he purchased, along with its 20 hectare estate, as a retirement project. With the help of his son Gérard they constructed a new winery and acquired more vineyards in this stunning area bordering the Luberon National Park. Today grandson Christopher runs the now 48 hectare estate that produces mainly Grenache based red wines with 20% rosé and 10% white wine production.

This rosé has been made using the saignée method where a portion of red juice is ‘bled’ off the main juice intended to make red wine. This saignée juice then ferments without the skins and seeds. Often wines made in this style are bolder and darker in colour and stronger in flavour. They’re food friendly rosés that can be drank all year round.
