Producer

Chaffey Bros is brothers-in-law Daniel Chaffey Hartwig & Theo Engela who are, in their own words, “part perfumiers; part historians; and part mad scientists…”. Their focus is on handcrafted wines from low-yielding vineyards nestled amongst the pristine Barossa & Eden Valleys in South Australia. They have recently been joined by young gun winemaker Huon Fechner. Their wine philosophy is ‘New Wave Barossa’ with a focus on soil, aromatics and texture with a little bit of unadulterated pleasure along the way. Consequently their wines are 100% unfined, rather textural and intensely good fun!
Their ancestry is that of the Canadian hydro engineers, the Chaffey Brothers who arrived in Australia in 1886 and proceeded like so many other settlers to make their mark on the Australian wine landscape.
