On rocky soils of slate, quartz and clay in the region of Cariñena in the northeast of Spain. All grapes were hand harvested.
WINEMAKING
Consisting of 75% Garnacha and 25% Syrah, once fermented the wine was aged for 2 months in French oak barrels.
Producer

The name Care comes from the Roman name for the area of Cariñena where Co-Owner and Director Nacho Lázaro’s family first planted vines 90 years ago. The wineries name also plays on the Spanish word for face, ‘cara’ which is represented beautifully by Aragonese artist Enrique Torrijos on every label. It’s true to say that the now 100 hectares of vines in the province of Zaragoza, south east of Rioja are nurtured with great care as well. Organically farmed, all of the vineyards are the sole property of this winery and with four different sites covering altitudes of 450-910 metres) grows a wide variety of indigenous and international grapes varieties from Garnacha Tinta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Tempranillo to Chardonnay, Macabeo, Muscat de Alexandria and Sauvignon Blanc. Nacho has an infectious passion for this unique region, as well as a love for its terroir and has undertaken steps such as wine tourism, an on-site restaurant and tasting experiences to consumers so that he may share his passion with others and support the local community in this rural area.
