WINEMAKING
A small proportion of berries were whole bunch fermented while the remaining berries were destemmed with whole berries being fermented to dryness. Fermentation and maturation took place in old oak foudre until bottling. Only neutral oak was used to round the palate profile without detracting from the bright fruit character of this wine.
Producer

The name Aphelion comes from the Ancient Greek meaning ‘from the sun to you’ which is pretty spot on for the sun-soaked conditions in South Australia’s McLaren Vale where husband and wife team Rob and Lou Mack began their winemaking journey. It all started after a life changing bottle of Barolo (it’s been known to happen!) and since 2005 everything from vineyard selection, winery work, labels, bottling, distribution, marketing, export, sales, cellar door, social media, order picking packing and dispatch has been a family affair.
As you can imagine, these beautiful wines are made in extremely small batches, so nab some while you can!
